Loved Ones

This week when knocking I stepped in dog scat and tracked it onto like 4 front porches of people hahaha
We found some more people to teach this week, someone planning on going to University of Houston, someone with a blue heeler, a muslim and a Christian that met on an online dating site, and someone whose daughter is in the hospital.

The highlight of this week would have to be Chuck's baptism!! It's a long story that I'm probably going to butcher, but 2 years ago Spanish missionaries received a referral for someone that spoke Spanish. It was Nona (Chuck's mother-in-law). They stopped by a few times but didn't get in, then tried again and she was there. The whole family, 3 generations, was taught and got close to baptism. Nona was baptized, along with Chuck's son! Now, two years later we went back by and Chuck was receptive and he progressed towards baptism. What a blessing! That family is like our best friends!! On Christmas, we face-timed our families with them at their house. On a very personal and somber note, Chuck had a loved one pass away recently and the gospel of Jesus Christ has really helped him.

I would like to share that when someone has a seriously ill member of the family, a recent loved one that has passed, a newly-welcomed baby in their home, having trouble with teenage children, or going through a divorce, these are all questions and life events involving God's plan for us, or the Plan of Salvation. Please take opportunities to share with others the peace that you have found when finding solace in Jesus Christ during these trials, and don't hesitate to lift others when you observe them going through these life changes. There was a great missionary from the Book of Mormon who shared the plan of salvation with a king with little religious background.

"Alma 22: 13 And Aaron did expound unto him the scriptures from the creation of Adam, laying the fall of man before him, and their carnal state and also the plan of redemption, which was prepared from the foundation of the world, through Christ, for all whosoever would believe on his name.
14 And since man had fallen he could not merit anything of himself; but the sufferings and death of Christ atone for their sins, through faith and repentance, and so forth; and that he breaketh the bands of death, that the grave shall have no victory, and that the sting of death should be swallowed up in the hopes of glory; and Aaron did expound all these things unto the king."

We lived with Heavenly Father before we came to earth. Adam and Eve fell, and Christ came to redeem us from the fall! We will all be resurrected, and we can live with Heavenly Father again as we follow Jesus Christ. This knowledge gives us purpose, gives us belonging, and allows God to bless us so much in our life!! We will see our loved ones again :) I love being a missionary!! The church is true.
