This week we were teaching some people preparing for baptism and we were looking through their DVDs and saw some not-so-great ones with some not-so-spiritually edifying pictures on the front. It was funny how my companion and I stealthily stole them, there were like 4 or 5, and took them to the dumpster and broke them in half while maintaining eye contact with each other haha After we eradicated their pornography collection, We then sanitized our hands and stared at a picture of Jesus while blasting Mormon Tabernacle Choir for a while. It's great to work for the Kingdom of God, and pornography destroys lives.
We were given the idea this week to share a scripture from the Book of Mormon this week with a lot of people we come into contact with. It helps people feel the power of the Word of God and softens hearts. We saw this work drastically in most cases. We got into really good spiritual discussions and people invited us back more. Last week I talked a little bit about how prayer is a real power, and this week I've been thinking how the scriptures are a real power, it's so real. One of the scriptures that brings the Spirit really powerfully is 3rd Nephi 27:14 And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted up upon the cross, that I might draw all men unto me, that as I have been lifted up by men even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil—
