Pride Stripped Away

This week went really well. There were a lot of new people at church, and we met some amazing people that we're starting to teach. One awesome guy is from Myanmar formerly known as Burma, and only speaks burmese and a little bit of english. He was in prison for 22 years and 3 months in Burma due to political unrest or something. He inspires me like crazy, that must be so hard. And he came to church and he is really awesome, I was trying to explain things to him using a picture book. Umm I tried papa murphy's pizza this week too. It's pretty good.

Also, two awesome boys we're teaching were scheduled to be baptized yesterday. But on saturday, their mom got in an argument with someone we're teaching, also her next door neighbor, who was planning on coming to church. She said that she won't come to church if he does.  So she didn't let her kids get baptized. But fortunately we rescheduled for this saturday. Isn't that kind of silly, but then again we all get our feelings hurt and we all have at least a little bit of pride that our natural man likes to not let go of. Luckily, a prophet in the Book of Mormon named Alma sheds some light on the subject Alma 5:28"Behold, are ye stripped of pride? I say unto you, if ye are not ye are not prepared to meet God. Behold ye must prepare quickly; for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand, and such an one hath not eternal life." That's the struggle, it's super hard to give up pride and be humble and accept God's will. I know that as we do this, we give room for the Spirit to touch our hearts, and we will receive a spiritual confirmation that what we're doing is right. I love being a missionary where the only thing I focus on is increasing others' faith and helping them make promises with God. It's the best. Love you guys see ya in 2 years
