4th of July

I'm staying in Marshalltown for 6 more weeks!! Yay!! 4th of July was pretty cool. I got food poisoning this week, played soccer with someone who could do around-the-worlds, which is insane, and someone bought us these mini Book of Mormons, they're so cute I love them. And we saw one our friends that we're teaching take a bat to someone else we know's car. It's sad we don't have permission to go visit him in Jail. He's such a good person sober, "alcohol turns even the most honorable of men into scoundrels". Name that quote. Holy cow we met some AMAZING people this week that are so willing to learn and just phenomenal human beings.

Something we've been focusing on lately is learning and more effectively teaching the role of prophets. In the Book of Mormon, King Benjamin teaches: "And the Lord God hath sent his holy prophets among all the children of men, to declare these things to every kindred, nation, and tongue, that thereby whosoever should believe that Christ should come, the same might receive remission of their sins, and rejoice with exceedingly great joy, even as though he had already come among them (Mosiah 3:13)." I love how prophets point us to Christ, and always tell us where we can receive the greatest of joy. I love reading from all of the prophets' writings in the scriptures, and hearing the words of the living prophets. They really are the word of God to us in these days. Another scripture that goes along with this is 2 Nephi 25:26, which is on page 100 in the Book of Mormon. pretty cool
